New England Arts For Animals Receives First Grant!

NEAFA&J&JLogos

New England Arts For Animals was recently awarded their first grant by DePuy Spine, a division of Johnson & Johnson, one of the world’s leading providers of pharmaceutical and healthcare products.

Johnson & Johnson are globally renowned and respected as much for their charitable work as they are for their products.  Their philanthropic efforts are focused on making life-changing, long-term differences in human health and lives through partnering with local community-based programs which most closely align with this strategic plan.

In the grant review process for their award, Johnson & Johnson cited New England Arts For Animals’ truly unique vision of ‘People Helping Animals Help People’ by using the proceeds from the sale of artworks by their member artists, and donations from their supporters, to provide grants for service, companion, and therapy animals, the people who need them, and the organizations that help train, place, and support them.

They also noted how though only being in existence for slightly over a year-and-a-half, New England Arts For Animals had adhered to their mission and already significantly impacted the lives of people and animals through awarding three grants of their own:

-          To Booth Hill Farm in Scituate; to fund a summer therapeutic riding program for a young girl and her favorite horse.

-          To Canines for Combat Veterans; this helped provide a service dog for one of our Iraq War veterans, presented at their graduation ceremony at Hanscom Air Force Base in Lexington.

-          To the New England Wildlife Center; to jump-start their therapy and companion animal outreach program, in which they bring rescued wildlife animals to senior living and care centers.

In closing, Johnson & Johnson stated how proud they were to be associated with New England Arts For Animals and partner with them in taking the next steps forward in their mutual journey together.
